Deepika Padukone was born on 5th january 1986 in copenhagen,Denmark.Her father Prakash is former badminton player of  international repute and mother Ujjala is an travel agent.Her younger sister anisha ia a golfer.She was educated at Bangalore's sofia high school and completed her pre-university education from Mount Carnel College.She go for her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indira Gandhi National Open University but quit it due to scheduling conflicts with her modeling.The focus of her life was badminton which she played very well from her younger age.Describing her daily routine from 2012 she described

"I would wake up five in the morning, go to physical training, go to school, again go for playing badminton, finish my homework and go to sleep".

She played the sport in national lavel championship.First appearing in a couple of advertising campaigns at the age of eight in the tenth grade she changed focus and decided to become a fashion model.Padukone's fame increased when she appeared in a highly popular print campaign for the 2006 kingfisher calender.At the age 21 she got wider recognition  from Hinesh Reshammiya's song 'Naam Hai Tera'.She soon began to receive offers for film roles.After that Farah Khan make the decision to cast her for a role in "Happy New Year".
